Is my phone compatible with eSIM?

Most smartphones released from 2019 onwards include eSIM support. To use a SaundersRoam eSIM, your device must meet two requirements: it needs to have eSIM hardware, and it must be network-unlocked.

Compatible devices

Apple iPhone: iPhone XS, XR, and all newer models (including iPhone SE 2nd and 3rd generation, and all iPhone 11 through iPhone 17 series).

Samsung Galaxy: Galaxy S20 and newer, Galaxy Z Flip and Z Fold series, Galaxy Note 20 and newer, Galaxy A54 and newer.

Google Pixel: Pixel 3a and all newer models.

Other Android: Selected models from Xiaomi, Oppo, OnePlus, Motorola, and Huawei. Check your manufacturer's website if you are unsure.

How to check if your phone is unlocked

Your phone must be carrier-unlocked to use a third-party eSIM. If you bought your phone outright or your contract has ended, it is likely already unlocked. If you are unsure, try these steps:

On iPhone

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Tap General, then About.
  3. Scroll down to Network Provider Lock. If it says "No SIM restrictions", your phone is unlocked.

On Android

  1. Insert a SIM card from a different network to the one you normally use.
  2. If your phone connects and shows signal, it is unlocked.
  3. If you see a message asking for an unlock code, contact your current network to request an unlock.

Important: Network-locked phones will not accept a SaundersRoam eSIM. Contact your mobile provider to unlock your device before purchasing.
