How to install your eSIM on iPhone

After purchasing your eSIM from SaundersRoam, you will receive a confirmation email with everything you need to install it. On iPhone, the fastest method is the one-click install link. You can install your eSIM at any time before or during your trip - you do not need to be in your destination country.

Before you start: Make sure your iPhone is connected to Wi-Fi. You need an internet connection to download the eSIM profile.

Method 1: One-click install (recommended)

1. Open the confirmation email from SaundersRoam on your iPhone.
2. Tap the installation link in the email. This will open a page showing your eSIM details.
3. Enter the confirmation code shown in your email.
4. Tap Install eSIM, then tap Allow when prompted by your iPhone.
5. Wait for the eSIM to download and connect to the network. This may take a few minutes.
6. Tap Done when the installation is complete.

One-time installation: Once you remove an eSIM from your device, you may not be able to reinstall it. Only delete an eSIM when you are sure you no longer need it.

Method 2: QR code

Your confirmation email also includes a QR code. This is useful if you want to install the eSIM from a second device:

1. Open the confirmation email on another device (a laptop, tablet, or another phone) so the QR code is visible on screen.
2. On your iPhone, go to Settings > Mobile Data (or Cellular in some regions).
3. Tap Add eSIM (or Add Data Plan on older iOS versions).
4. Tap Use QR Code.
5. Point your iPhone camera at the QR code on the other screen.
6. Your iPhone will detect the eSIM. Tap Continue, then tap Add Mobile Plan.

Method 3: Manual activation code

If you cannot use the install link or scan the QR code, you can enter the activation details manually:

1. Go to Settings > Mobile Data > Add eSIM.
2. Tap Enter Details Manually.
3. Enter the SM-DP+ address and activation code from your confirmation email.
4. Tap Next, then tap Add Mobile Plan.

After installation

Once installed, your eSIM will appear in Settings > Mobile Data as a second line. We recommend labelling it "Travel" or "SaundersRoam" so it is easy to identify.

1. When prompted to label the plan, choose "Travel" or tap Custom Label and type "SaundersRoam".
2. You do not need to turn on the line until you arrive at your destination (see our activation guide).
3. Keep your primary line as the default for calls and messages.

Tip: Install your eSIM before you fly. You only need Wi-Fi to install it, and having it ready means you will have data the moment you land.
