How to install your eSIM on Android

After purchasing your eSIM from SaundersRoam, you will receive a confirmation email containing an installation link, a QR code, and a manual activation code. On Android, the recommended method is scanning the QR code. Setup varies slightly between manufacturers, but the process is similar across Samsung, Google Pixel, and other supported devices.

Before you start: Make sure you are connected to Wi-Fi. You need an internet connection to download the eSIM profile.

Method 1: QR code (recommended)

Samsung Galaxy:

  1. Open the confirmation email from SaundersRoam on another device so the QR code is visible.
  2. On your Samsung phone, go to Settings > Connections > SIM Manager.
  3. Tap Add eSIM.
  4. Tap Scan QR code from service provider.
  5. Point your camera at the QR code.
  6. Tap Confirm to download the eSIM profile.

Google Pixel:

  1. Go to Settings > Network & Internet > SIMs.
  2. Tap the + (Add) button.
  3. Tap "Don't have a SIM card?" to start the eSIM flow.
  4. Scan the QR code from your confirmation email.
  5. Tap Download to install the profile.

Method 2: Install link and code

Your confirmation email also includes a direct installation link. This method works on some Android devices:

  1. Open the confirmation email on your Android device.
  2. Tap the installation link. This will open a page showing your eSIM details.
  3. Enter the confirmation code shown in your email.
  4. Tap Install eSIM and follow the on-screen prompts.

Note: The one-click install link works most reliably on iPhone. If your Android device does not support this method, use the QR code instead.

Method 3: Manual activation code

If you cannot scan the QR code or use the install link:

  1. Follow the same path to the Add eSIM screen for your device.
  2. Look for an option labelled "Enter code manually", "Enter activation code", or "Help" (this varies by device).
  3. Enter the SM-DP+ address and activation code from your confirmation email.
  4. Confirm and download the eSIM profile.

After installation

Your eSIM will appear alongside your physical SIM in your device's SIM settings. Label it so you can identify it easily:

  • Samsung: Settings > Connections > SIM Manager - tap the new eSIM and rename it to "SaundersRoam".
  • Pixel: Settings > Network & Internet > SIMs - tap the new eSIM to rename it.
  • Leave your primary SIM as the default for calls and texts.
  • You do not need to enable the data line until you arrive at your destination.

One-time installation: Once you remove an eSIM from your device, you may not be able to reinstall it. Only delete an eSIM when you are sure you no longer need it.

Tip: Install your eSIM before you travel while you have a stable Wi-Fi connection. You can activate the data when you arrive.
